Great Northern Craft Fair

I took part in the GNCF for the first time this weekend held in Spinningfields, Manchester.
Here I exhibited my newest work following on from my 'forget-me-not' collection created at Bishopsland.

I had a great weekend speaking to visitors, galleries and other exhibitors. It was a a hectic and long weekend but well worth all the hard work! My jewellery and silverware were displayed on this beautiful arts and crafts style dressing table to reflect the nature of the work, with the jewellery box and powder pot designed specifically to be displayed in such a setting.

All the work is sterling silver, most with hand engraved/ pierced patterns found in out of use textiles particularly inspired by the forget-me-not flower.

For now I am getting ready to send my powder pot for display at an exhibition within the V&A later this year and preparing work for new stockists. Keep an eye out for further details of upcoming exhibitions and shows to follow.

"Forget me not" jewellery collection

A preview of work my new extended collection to be shown at Great Northern craft Fair in two weeks time!
Hand engraved and pierced silver is manipulated to take on sculptural, three dimensional forms.
Now with the addition of peacock and ivory natural pearls.

Bishopsland!

Seeing as I have been off the radar for nearly a year I thought a few pictures of what I've been up to wouldn't go a miss.
These are just a few of the memories I've taken from a magical year living on a farm for jewellers and silversmiths with 11 new friends + 2 cats and of course P&O.

Me!

Hand pierced and engraved decorative jewellery box. Sterling silver with an Indian rosewood turned base. I was vey happy to receive the Malcolm Appleby award for design and creativity in engraving for this piece.

Bishopland at Collect

So I've been a little behind but here are some pictures taken of the Bishopsland exhibit at Collect. I was helping out on the Friday and Sunday and got to meet so many people and peek around Collect whenever the chance arose.

My perspective may have changed slightly since my last visit to Collect, looking at the prolific silver vessels by Ndidi Ekubia and Hiroshi Suzuki (both Adrain Sassoon) I did still take the time to see some beautiful jewellery up close, even getting to touch the Golden fleece ring by Giovanni Corvaja made from gold wire drawn down to the width of a hair.

Other favourite jewellers were Jacqueline Ryan at the Scottish Gallery and Zoe Arnold at CAA.
